A Few Steps Down The Memory Lane
Hiltongrove acquired Salthouse Industrial Estates in 2018 and is now turning it into our vision- Salthouse Village, a village built today for a renewable future.
say that Salthouse Mills Industrial Estates (formally Salthouse Mills) history began in 1892 when Barrow Chemical Wood Pulp Company became Kilner Partington Pulp Company, after opening a factory at Salthouse.
In 1919, the site was formally known as Barrow Paper Mills Ltd, owned by a company venturing into the paper industry. They imported paper pulp, which was important traffic for the ABP, but in 1972, it was closed down. The site was then home to car dismantlers and auto repairers in 2000. 2018 saw some rebranding as Hitongrove acquired the 17-acre site, turning it into Salthouse Mills Industrial Center. In 2019, we continued to provide workshops, storage yards, and industrial units. In 2021, we are still dedicated to our core values and building spaces that transform communities.
We are proud of where e have been and how far we have come but most importantly, where we are going.
